Sometimes big ideas come in small packages. Now in its eighteenth year, this popular annual exhibition includes over 90 different artists from across Minnesota and beyond. Each piece is under 10” in any dimension and priced at $100 or less. This year’s show features small works by Rebecca Gramdorf, a ceramic artist and farmer based in Hermantown, MN.

In the natural world, pockets of ecosystems that retain biodiversity and resilience amid changing conditions are referred to as ‘Refugia’. In northern Minnesota, our refugia are wetlands and, in particular, seasonal ponds. Kristen Anderson (Bigfork, MN) will display a series of felt tapestries representing this concept. Susan Hawkinson and Loree Miltich (Grand Rapids, MN) have composed an ekphrastic, double-voice poem as part of the exhibition that considers the remarkable life held in seasonal ponds and their essential role in the ecosystem of northern Minnesota.
