Youth Beading Circle with Nancy Kingbird
Join talented and experienced artist Nancy Kingbird (Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe), a beader from Cass Lake, MN, for this project-based beading circle. Nancy will demonstrate and teach beading techniques similar to the handbag pictured. Lunch will be provided or you can bring your own. Ages 13+. We are prioritizing indigenous youth for this class, but everyone is welcome.

Youth Painting Basics
This class provides an opportunity for students to explore their creativity, learn new techniques, and express themselves through painting. Our engaging and supportive environment encourages students to experiment with colors, shapes, and textures, helping them develop both their artistic skills and confidence. Students will have the chance to work with different painting mediums such as acrylics and watercolors. Every class will focus on a specific theme or subject, ranging from landscapes and still life to abstract art. Ages 9-14. All supplies provided.

Sculptural Pottery (ages 5-9)
This fun and inspirational class is open to students with beginning to intermediate levels of ability. Students will learn pottery and sculptural techniques. Projects will be selected based on the student’s level of experience and age. The course fee includes the cost of materials. Ages 5-9.

Wheel Thrown and Sculptural Pottery (ages 10-16)
In this course students will use pottery and sculptural techniques including work on the potter’s wheel. Refine your wheel throwing techniques, learn how to make new ceramic forms or work on interesting sculptures! This course is for youth who are at least 10 years of age and is for beginners or advanced pottery students. The course fee includes the cost of materials. Ages 10-16.

Sculpt a Pokemon!
Follow along with local artist and Pokemon enthusiast as he shows you how to create your own clay Pokemon! This project is great for students to develop skills for how to sculpt with clay and create their own models. All materials provided. Ages 6 and up.

MAC Youth Art Club/Open Studio
Welcome to the MAC’s Youth Art Club, a time designed for young artists eager to explore their creativity and enhance their artistic skills! This open studio time offers a supportive environment where youth can express themselves freely, delve into individual art projects, and participate in group art lessons. Bring your own projects or use the supplies available at the MAC! This group will meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month. Ages 9-14. Please register ahead of time.

Family Create Second Saturdays
Join us every Second Saturday from 1-3PM at the MAC for Family Create Second Saturdays! Free family orientated art activities with a new theme each month! Ages 4 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Projects won’t take the entire 2 hours so staggered attendance is better to ensure space for everyone. This event is sponsored by Grand Itasca – Fairview.
