All classes listed are for youth only. Please contact us before the class if a parent/guardian needs to attend with any child.

Wheel Thrown/Sculptural Pottery (ages 10-16)
Try wheel throwing and sculptural clay work in a relaxed, creative space. Practice your wheel skills, try new forms, or create fun sculptures. This class welcomes youth from beginners to returning students. Materials are included. Ages 10–16.

Sculptural Pottery (ages 5-9)
A hands‑on clay class where kids shape, build, and discover clay in a welcoming, creative space. Lessons cover the basics of pottery and sculptural work, with projects tailored to each child’s experience. Materials are included. Ages 5-9.

Youth Painting: Acrylic Adventures
Unleash your creativity in our Youth Acrylic Painting Class, where young artists, ages 9-14, can explore the vibrant world of acrylics! In this fun, interactive class, students will learn the basics of acrylic painting techniques, including blending, layering, and color mixing, while working on projects that reflect their own unique artistic style. Whether you’re a beginner or have some painting experience, our supportive instructor will guide you step by step, helping you build confidence with each brushstroke.

Youth Painting: Watercolor Wonders
Dive into the world of watercolor in this exciting and creative class designed for young artists, ages 9-14! Whether you’re a beginner or already have some painting experience, this class will help you explore the unique techniques of watercolor painting, from blending soft washes to creating detailed textures. Students will learn how to work with water, color, and brushes to create stunning landscapes, abstract designs, and more. With each project, young artists will build their confidence, develop their own artistic voice, and enjoy the calming flow of creating with watercolors.

Sculpt a Pokemon!
Follow along with local artist and Pokemon enthusiast as he shows you how to create your own clay Pokemon! This project is great for students to develop skills for how to sculpt with clay and create their own models. All materials provided. Ages 6-16. This is a youth only class.

MAC Youth Open Studio
Youth Open Studio is a time designed for young artists to explore their creativity and independently work on their artwork. Open studio time offers a supportive environment where youth can spend time working on their own individual art projects with an instructor available to assist or answer questions. Students are encouraged to either bring their own supplies, or they can use supplies from the MAC. Ages 9-14. First Wednesday of the month. Please register ahead of time.

Family Create Second Saturdays
Join us every Second Saturday from 1-3PM at the MAC for Family Create Second Saturdays! Free family orientated art activities with a new theme each month! Ages 4 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Projects won’t take the entire 2 hours so staggered attendance is better to ensure space for everyone. This event is sponsored by Grand Itasca – Fairview.
