Youth Wheel Thrown/Sculptural Pottery

This fun and inspirational class is open to students with beginning to intermediate levels of ability. Students will learn wheel throwing pottery and sculptural techniques. Projects will be selected based on the student’s level of experience and age. The course fee includes the cost of materials. A healthy snack will be provided at the beginning of each class.  Ages 6 to 16.

Sketch to Shirt!

Learn how to take your ideas and sketches into a digital medium and back into a physical object in the form of your own custom shirt! Participants will work with Ipads using digital pencils learning basics in programs like adobe fresco, procreate, and illustrator to create designs that will be printed and pressed onto a shirt. Shirt included in the price of class.

Watercolor Pet Portrait Painting

Bring an image of your favorite pet or animal to create a keepsake watercolor portrait. Paintings will be mounted in 11" x 14" standard size mats for easy framing afterwards. The course fee includes the cost of materials. Ages 7 and up. Beginners welcome!

Sculpt a Pokemon!

Follow along with local artist and Pokemon enthusiast as he shows you how to create your own clay Pokemon! This project is great for students to develop skills for how to sculpt with clay and create their own models. All materials provided. Ages 6-16. This is a youth only class.

MAC Youth Open Studio

Youth Open Studio is a time designed for young artists to explore their creativity and independently work on their artwork. Open studio time offers a supportive environment where youth can spend time working on their own individual art projects with an instructor available to assist or answer questions. Students are encouraged to either bring their own supplies, or they can use supplies from the MAC. Ages 9-14. First Wednesday of the month. Please register ahead of time.

Dates: Youth Open Studio will be pausing for the summer but will continue this fall!

Family Create Second Saturdays

Join us every Second Saturday from 1-3PM at the MAC for Family Create Second Saturdays!  Free family orientated art activities with a new theme each month!  Ages 4 and up.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Projects won’t take the entire 2 hours so staggered attendance is better to ensure space for everyone. This event is sponsored by Grand Itasca – Fairview.

Date: 2nd Saturday of every month! (June 6, July 12, and August 8)
