M’lou Brubaker
M’lou loves jewelry materials and processes, and what they can do and express. She loves transforming them into new objects. The textures, colors, and finishes of silver, gold, and gemstones are fascinating to her.
M’lou uses modern tools and materials in the studio, but many of the tools and methods have changed very little since Egyptian, Roman, Mycenean, or Druidic times. She values that link to the past. It energizes her work and inspires her to want to create great jewelry in our own time.
M’lou collaborates with clients to design and make meaningful pieces, which fulfill both artist and client. M’lou enjoys bringing an idea to life in the real world of things which can be felt, held and worn, and even passed down to further generations.
“It is a privilege to do this work, and I am thankful for every day of it.”
