John Bauer is a multimedia artist based in Grand Rapids, MN. His photography has been published in numerous magazines and used for promotional campaigns. In 2009, his photography appeared in the exhibit “Reveal,” which documented the stories of unique individuals in Itasca County.

“I always felt I was artistic but not sure why.  As a kid I marveled at the shape and beauty of my mom’s Oil of Olay bottle the way clouds drift through a blue sky, perfectly striped lawnmower lines, and the polished red and black colors of the Batmobile.

Time has taught me to appreciate every single day.  In retirement I feel I can’t waste a single minute not being artistic or productive.  It has afforded me space to be creative in everything I do: designing and building three houses; photography and portraiture; writing poetry, short stories, and songs. Time has made me happy.  All of which comes out in my sculptures.”
