Jane Latimer

Jane has been creating art since childhood. She grew up in a very creative family where they were taught to make things for fun or function, and artistic expression was encouraged. Jane received formal training from Bemidji State University, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Itasca Community College, University of Minnesota, and Hamline University.

Marley Kaul of Bemidji was an influential teacher in her painting education. Jane has studied watercolor in workshops and has also enjoyed learning from Christopher Schink. Georgia O’Keefe inspires Jane’s work. Watercolor is her favorite medium because it is so spontaneous. “Light, the essence of all art, is what I love to play with.”
