Toddler Tinker Time
Toddler Tinker Time art classes are catered to toddler ages 2 - 5. Toddlers are tactile and love interacting with the world using their hands. Once a month we will cater to our littler ones and offer them various crafts and projects that they can do together with an adult. Projects are geared for both child and a guardian to work and create together to make something that can be remembered for years to come. All materials included in the class fee. Ages 2+

Moss Wall Art
Learn how to make your very own stunning moss wall art! In this class, you will use moss and resin to design your own unique piece of art on a 6”x12” wood panel inspired by nature. This will be an easy and relaxed workshop where you can explore your creative side and have fun! Ages 10 and up.

Fishing Lure Painting
Join us at the MAC for an afternoon of painting wooden, homemade fishing lures with acrylic paint and then waterproofing them. They will be great for landing that big catch out on the lake this summer! The lures are made locally by Grand Rapids artist, Dan Root! All materials provided. Ages 6 and up.

Sculpt A Pokemon
Follow along with local artist and Pokemon enthusiast as he shows you how to create your own clay Pokemon! This project is great for students to develop skills for how to sculpt with clay and create their own models. Sculpt one Pokemon model or catch them all! All materials provided. Ages 6 and up.

Beaded Earrings
Learn how to make your own pair of beaded earrings! Participants will make one pair of earrings. Ages 10 and up. Adults and youth are both welcome! All supplies provided.

Wheel Thrown and Sculptural Pottery (ages 6-16)
This fun and inspirational class is open to students with beginning to intermediate levels of ability. Students will learn wheel throwing pottery and sculptural techniques. Projects will be selected based on the student’s level of experience and age. The course fee includes the cost of materials. A healthy snack will be provided at the beginning of each class. Ages 6 to 16.

Drawing in 3D
Learn how to use perspective and draw shapes in 3D. We will learn how to draw buildings and create a sense of space and distance by learning 2-point perspective with tips for drawing buildings, streets, and objects. Ages 14-18. Supply list will be given upon registration.

Painting in 4 Styles
Join us for 4 days of recreating a picture that inspires you. We will take a moment at the beginning of the first class to choose a picture you would like to make your own. We will divide the picture into 4 squares and using different mediums (acrylics, watercolor, colored pencils, and oil pastels) we will explore the deconstruction of your inspirational photo. Focus and perspective will be part of our discussions. This will be a fun, stress free environment where we create 4 smaller pieces that can be celebrated individually or put together into one larger picture. A healthy snack will be provided at the beginning of each class. Materials provided.

How to Draw Animals and Nature from Observation
Drawing from life can be challenging, especially when things move! Learn simple ways to quickly capture the gesture of animals, people, wildlife, trees, and flowers. Class will meet outdoors at an offsite location, such as the Itasca County Fairgrounds, or at the MacRostie Art Center depending on weather. Exact location will be determined at a later date. Ages 14-18. Supply list will be given upon registration.

Learn About Shading
Learn shading techniques to make your drawings look real. We will focus on value, texture, and mark making to turn a drawing from flat to three dimensional with a variety of mark making techniques. Ages 14-18. Supply list will be given upon registration.

Family Create Second Saturdays
Join us every Second Saturday from 1-3PM at the MAC for Family Create Second Saturdays! Free family orientated art activities with a new theme each month! Ages 4 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Projects won’t take the entire 2 hours so staggered attendance is better to ensure space for everyone. This event is sponsored by Grand Itasca – Fairview.
