Interpreting the Dutch Still Life
(June 2)

from 50.00

Instructor: Kimberly Benson

Dates: Saturday, June 2

Times: 10 AM - 4 PM

Participants will work directly from a unique and contemporary still life arrangement based on the 17th Century Dutch Still Life Genre.  Create an original artwork(s) through interpreting this specific still life, whether through accurate representation or an abstraction.  Work from various materials to create your own still life artwork.  We will discuss historical significance and concepts, symbolism, and issues that arise with abstraction.  Mixed media, drawing, painting, collage - bring your own preferred materials.  If you do not have materials, yet are interested in drawing, painting or collage, the instructor will provide paper, gessoed paper, paint, collage materials, graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and pastels to use.
