MacRostie Art Center is pleased to announce its summer art fair. The Downtown Art Fair will take place on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 am to 4 pm on the Old Central School grounds in downtown Grand Rapids. Admission to the event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
ART & MUSIC |REGIONAL VENDORS
Over 20 regional artist vendors will be on-site from 9 am to 4 pm displaying and selling artwork including painting, printmaking, pottery, jewelry, weaving, and more. Food vendors include Leo’s Kitchen with gyros and Marla’s Curbisde Craze. Live music will be featured throughout the event with the Sam Miltich Trio performing their blend of acoustic jazz and ethnic folk music from 10 am – 12 pm followed by Anthony Miltich, a solo musician in the singer/songwriter tradition, from 1 – 3 pm.
WORKSHOP & DEMOS | FREE FOR ALL AGES
MacRostie Art Center staff and volunteers will lead a free painting workshop for kids and families from 10 am to 12 pm under the MAC tent. Students from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design will be demonstrating the screen printing process from 1 – 3 pm and providing hands-on instruction to people of all ages in creating silkscreen prints.
RAFFLE | SUPPORT MACROSTIE ART CENTER
An art raffle benefiting the work of MacRostie Art Center will be held under the MAC tent throughout the day. Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance at MacRostie Art Center or at the Art Fair on July 13 for a chance to win. Prizes include a 5-foot carved fish decoy by Danny Root, a limited edition lithograph by artist Gendron Jensen, and a 5-piece place setting by potter Cyrus Swann as well as over a dozen art items donated by the on-site artist vendors. Raffle winners will be announced beginning at 3 pm.
